I mean really, where do I start? This is it. It’s been a while but it’s finally here.
This is my life, all rolled into one big commotion that eventuated into this site/label. I sit here, 22 years of age, unemployed and fresh from a recent career-vacation that some people work hard to get to. I quit it all. 3 long years of frustrating full time work in a career I didn’t even want. You can have it.
There were a lot of late nights, tired workdays and countless peak-hour traffic sessions to get to this point. But getting all deep and meaningful is not what this site is about. No way. I just thought I’d give you some insight as to where I’ve come from and what I’ve sacrificed to do something that actually makes me happy, something that I actually can say I have 100% passion for.
This is Cassette Walkmans, my vision for about a year and a half now, I’m not going to explain to you what this vision is for a few reasons – 1) I want to you to see for yourself and 2) I’m still figuring it out. I can tell you a few things though, we want to be a voice to people who follow the same interests we follow, we want to make art in any shape or form that interests us and we want to push boundaries. Forget the trends, working a 9-5 and getting a career that the general public want is a trend. I learnt my lesson.
People give me this look like I’ve lost the plot. I haven’t but I don’t blame them. How about we just figure this one out while we go along? Sometimes you’ve just got to say what the heck – and take some chances.
